Instructions for Poster PresentationPosters can be mounted on the day of the poster session and must be removed the same day at the end of the presentation by the presenting authors. Poster panels are 180 cm in height and 90 cm wide. Instructions for Oral PresentationsEvery lecture hall is equipped with a beamer, two laptops, one with MS Windows xp, one wih Mac OSX. Nevertheless, it is recommended that you bring your own laptop for your presentation, especially if you use exotic fonts or embedded movies. There is also a VGA switch with VGA cables as well as an overhead projector. If you bring a file with your presentation (e.g. a PowerPoint- or PDF-file) you should upload and test it well in advance of your presentation. A pdf presentation has less potential for surprises as long as you make sure that the used fonts are embedded in the file (select the respective Adobe distiller option). Please use a memory stick or a CD as medium for your file. Floppy disk drives will not be provided. Lecturers should meet with the chairpersons of their session 15 min before the session starts, connect the used laptop to the VGA switch and boot it. Start your PowerPoint presentation and leave your laptop in this ready status. When your lecture starts, your laptop will be switched online by an operator. There are two technicians as operators in every lecture hall present for helping with the use of the microphone, the preparation of the laptops, and for moving the wireless microphone during the discussion. Instructions for ChairpersonsChairpersons should meet with the lecturers of their session 15 min before the session starts and are responsible for a strict control of the time frame. The time frame is as follows: Contributed Oral Presentations have a gross duration of 15 min that breaks down to 10 min for presentation, 3 min for discussion, 2 min pause for optional change between session. Invited Oral Presentations have a gross duration of 30 min that breaks down to 25 min for presentation, 3 min for discussion, 2 min pause for optional change between session. Invited Plenary Lectures have a total time-slot of 45 min that breaks down to 40 min for presentation, 3 min for discussion, 2 min pause for optional change between sessions.
